Queensland Coronial Legal Service
Caxton Legal Centre and Townsville Community Law operate the Queensland Coronial Legal Service which:
- provides free legal advice to bereaved family members about any aspect of the coronial process and associated issues;
- provide representation to family members appearing in some inquests (where the matter fits with casework guidelines); and
- works with other service providers to help bereaved families connect with social work, counselling and other support services.

- Suicide Call Back Service – Phone counselling for those at risk of suicide and those affected by the death of a loved one by suicide

- Thirrili - Thirrili Indigenous Postvention Response Service is a proud Community-Controlled organisation guided by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, being, and doing. We are dedicated to the vision of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities thriving in the future, free from the traumatic impacts of suicide. Thirrili responds to the collective trauma of suicide with coordinated services to provide holistic care. Drawing upon community resources and interdisciplinary services, we offer support through developing a care plan, aligned to individual and community knowledges, strengths and lived experience. Our service is a culturally safe support system that respects the grieving process and paves a path toward healing. We understand the importance of staying flexible, we respect and uphold local cultural protocols and practices related to mourning and Sorry Business. - Mob Link – Institute for Urban Indigenous Health - Mob Link is a service to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Southeast Queensland, through access to same-day care or support to connect to a variety of health and social services. It is staffed by a deadly team of intake officers, nurses, doctors, Indigenous outreach workers and social workers from across the region. Available 7am to 7pm, 365 days per year, call 1800 254 354 and an intake officer will yarn with you to work out the best support for you.
